Argentine pianist MARIO MERDIROSSIAN was Professor of Piano Graduates Level at the National University of Buenos Aires. He was also Prof. of Music History and Music Theory at the National College Mariano Moreno, the Peralta Ramos Institute and the “Centro Polivalente de Artes”. He also conducted master classes at the University of Mississippi. Merdirossián is also an active lecturer. During 2010 he presented in several colleges and cultural centers of Arizona, Nevada and California “The Piano Story”, a narrative concert about the evolution of the piano during the last 300 hundred years. Mario Merdirossián received outstanding international reviews throughout his concert career. The Los Angeles Times wrote, “Merdirossián has done what others only talk or dream about”… He is one of our best musicians” noted La Prensa in Buenos Aires, “His technical skills are superb”… “He truly speaks through the piano” said Daily Mississippian, and Peru’s Arequipa al Dia recently headlined: “Merdirossián amazed his audience with his superb concert”.
After wining several national competitions, he performed extensively in South America under the sponsorship of the Argentine Office of Foreign Affaires. He debuted in the United States in 1980 at UCLA’s Royce Hall, performing as soloist of the California Chamber Orchestra under Henry Temianka and the Los Angeles Symphony under Nelson Nieremberg. He also toured several colleges and universities as a recitalist. He was invited to join the Roster of Exclusive Steinway Artists. Under the sponsorship of Steinway & Sons he performed a series of recitals throughout California and several American universities. Most recently he toured Peru in a series of recitals and performing as soloist of the National Symphony of Lima and the Symphony Orchestra of Trujillo.
